A peek into my daily makeup

Hello peoples!
So I'm finally getting to grips with blogging, whoever knew it would be this time consuming and brain buzzing. With thanks to the blogging community i've managed to do a few things i had no idea about. Working a full time job and trying to blog is particulaly hard, working round everything else going on. Big resepct to all bloggers out!!

Anyways...since i have a bit of spare time I thought I'd share my daily makeup rountine with you.

I get up in the morning as close as possible to when i need to leave from work. I love sleep and I'm always tired so I need products that are not going to take long and i can just slap on so i can spend more time with my beloved bed!
I dont wear foundation on a daily basis, only really when I feel like I'm looking a bit worse for wear and I need to make a bit more of an effort. Being a beauty therapist i should try and make a bit more effort to look more glamourous, but I'd rather just sleep to be honest!

Maybelline mega plush volum' express mascara
I love this maybelline mascara its super quick to apply and gives great volume after a few coats. I did a full reveiw Here
Rimmel stay blushed liquid cheek tint
Now this liquid cheek tint, im still trying to make my mind up about it. I got it in this months glossybox, and when I saw it i was thinking 'oo I've been wanting to try a liquid/cream blush' now I don't know if there's a nack to applying this. I put a very small bit on my fingers and kind of blend on to the apple of my cheeks. It either goes well or I look abit like I've been punched in both cheeks! Never a good look really! I like the colour and it isn't as runny as I thought it would be so I'm going to give it a longer trial, to see if I can get on with it a bit more.

Artdeco colour couture lipstick in 645
One of my favourites this one, along with all my dark reds/purple colours at the moment! So easy to glide on and stays on for ages so its easy to glam up my make up when i feeling lazy. It doesnt dry my lips out either which is always a plus.

Benefit boi-ing industrial strength concealer
The holy grail in my make up case closely followed by my aldi lacure concealer pen. This would be one product I couldn't leave the house without! It hides anything from spots to dark circles. As it says its industrial strength but without being cakey and drying. I find I have to be careful with concealers under the eyes as no one wants premature wrinkles from products that dry the delicate skin out. I do go through this quite fast so I wish they had an industrial size!

MAC liquid last eyeliner in point black
Another kind of holy grail in my make up case. I came across this by accident about 4 years ago and have never stopped buying it. I was going on my first girls holiday and I hate not wearing mascara so I needed something to waterproof. But all the mascaras seemed to be more splash proof than actually waterproof. So i heard about a MAC mascara, but when i asked the assistant she said it would still be no good for me, as im like a child when there's a pool near! She suggested using the liquid last  eyeliner to line my eyes so i brought it. After lining my eyes i looked...well quite frankly very strange! So I cleaned my favourite mascara brush and dunked it in and used it as a mascara which worked perfectly! Since then I now use it on the wet part of my eye (just above the lower lash line, if that makes sense) which I know makes your eyes look smaller but I prefer it there as I think I look abit alien eyed without it there. Its the only eyeliner that literally stays put all day, although it is a bit of a bugger to get off if I line the tops of my lash line!

Jelly pong pong 2-in-1 eyeliner and shadow
Does what it says on the tin this one. I tend to use this to just smudge very slightly under the lower lash line. Not too much though you dont want to look like a panda!
On a day to day basis I also just use this on the top lash line on the outer corners and smudge slightly. Its quite a thick pencil so i like to keep this sharpened to have a more precise line. I dont really tend to wear eyeshadow so i havent really tried this as an eyeshadow yet. I'm guessing it will look quite dramatic though.

I heart limecrime

At last i managed to save for some Limecrime lipsticks.
I came across limecrime makeup a while ago on instagram and knew i had to have some of the lipsticks. There are some very outlandish colours which are a little bit too different for me, but each to there own. Check them out as i can gaurentee there will be a colour for you.

As you can see i went for the opaque lipsticks in 'geradium' which is a gorgeous pinky coral colour, and 'poisenberry' which i brought for a halloween costume but its all I've worn all week. its a bang on trend dark purple. They also do velevetines and carousel gloss as well, definitely planning on getting some of the velvetines!

I not only love the lipsticks i also love the packaging. Its different to what you normally see, individual and new, but staying girly, and it has sparkly bits on, how more eye catching can you get?
Both colours i found can be built up to give a deeper colour, i found the geradium to slip around a bit the more I layered it up, but to be honest it didn't really need to be built up any more i was just experimenting.
Poisenberry starts of a nice subtle purple when first applied the more i put on the deeper and more dramatic it looked, turning to a deep dark purple bordering on black. this is definitely my favourite out of the two. Not that i need anymore dark lippies in my collection.

There are so many more colours id love to try! so let the saving commence.

have your tried lime crime makeup before?

Whats the best beauty box?

Hope your all having a good weekend, i know its nearly over! (Sad face)

So ive been thinking for a while about ditching my glossybox. At first i was always  excited about coming home from work to see that little brown box on the kitchen side, grabbing it and finding out what littlw goodies were inside. Ok so once i got excited because in all honesty i think the glossy box is crap! Ive had about 2 things ive liked in the time ive been receiving them.

I still want to receive a beauty box but which one?!?
Ive got my eye on the birchbox at the minute but I was wanting a few ideas from you guys?

Palmer's cocoa butter formula face care

More supermarket goodies!
Palmer's cocoa body butter is one of the most popular moisturisers,  known for its helping hand in diminishing stretch marks, which unfortunately has never helped me but still love the stuff! It's smell is distinctive and you know when someone's used it,  and most people share my view on the smell too. Aaammaazzzinngg. I just want to eat it, which I wouldn't recommend, because it probably doesn't taste as great as it smells.

When I spotted these on offer in Asda and saw the 'new' logo on them, it was kind of obvious I was going to get them really. I have a skin care routine already but I love trying new stuff out, so got all Asda had to offer when it came to this range.

Everybody loves a good face wash, that clean fresh feeling you get after youve given your face a good wash, and this doesn't dissapoint. It smells like the palmers cocoa body butter but only slightly. Which is good because it would be too over powering as a face wash. It lathers up nicely so you dont need alot which makes the wash cost effective. Theres nothing worse than a face wash you need loads of pumps and it doesnt get you any where and before you know it you've ran out. It left my skin feeling firm and smooth and super fresh, and it didnt sting too much when i got it in my eyes too which is a bonus!

I ran out of exfoliant a while back and never got round to getting anymore, which I can definitely tell my skin is in need if a good scrub! I've had quite a few break outs lately which I've never really suffered with. Smothering sudacream on every night just didnt seem to work. I knew the problem was deeper! I should of known really being a beauty therapist, but hey ho we can all get lazy at times!
When I read the spiel on the back about all the beneficial ingredients I was thinking, yeah yeah whatever. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually quite effective.

Now this stuff smelt alot more strongly of the notourious body butter but again not to over powering. I love too use a mask now and again as it makes me feel im giving my skin a little treat. It smoothed on easily and didnt feel too tight when it dries. I dont personally like the masks that go really dry as i feel like it dries my skin out too. It was easy to wash off aswell, not sticking to parts of my face so i had to scrub it off. My face definitely felt soft, smooth and well moisturised without feeling greasy.

As you can see by all the benifical ingredients listed on the back of the products theres alot of good stuff in these, and i beleive they do there job very well. I will definitely carry on using these. Even if i didnt think they worked id still use it because i love the smell!

Any fans of palmers cocoa butter body butter?

Lasting lip tint?

Although I love my lippies, I've never really got on with lip tints or stains. I've tried the rimmel 1000 kisses lip tint and found the colour was just too weak with a pale pink colour I choose and the darker pink came off way to easy on the inner part of my lips making me look like an old
Fashioned hooker! Not a great look, trust me!
I've tried a few other too, but again they seem to come off me too easily and I find I prefer lipstick better for there staying power and high pigmented colours.
That was until I saw this in the local supermarket.
I was just browsing as always while the boyfriend was whining at me to hurry up, "you don't need any new make-up" he says. Oh how wrong he is. We always need new make-up, products etc etc right!?
The maxfactor lipfinity lasting lip tint caught my eye, there was a good selection of colours to test so decided to go through them all, letting them dry and rubbing over to see if it really would stay put. I was pretty happy with the result of staying power of the back of hand test. Unfortunately every colour I wanted they didn't have in stock(unimpressed face) obviously I couldn't go away empty handed after all that hard work of testing them out so I picked up yet another dark red! This obsession with dark reds is getting out of hand now!
The colour I choose is number 6. It looks a lot darker on the actual lips and becomes a lot more matte aswell. It takes about a minute to dry and become less sticky and when it dries you'll be able to see bits you may have missed. I think it may of gone a bit darker as I did do a few coats. If you wanted a less obvious look just one light coat will still make your likes look plump and give that nice healthy pink colour.
When I first applied it, I didn't have any foundation on and found it did bleed quite easily but quickly wiping with a cotton bud it solved that and didn't bleed again, even when I layered it up after. It does take quite a bit to make this budge. I'm always drinking green tea to get me through the working day and by lunch it was still going strong. After lunch I did notice it fading on the inner part of my lips, but not doing the gross lip liner look thing that it does sometimes.
After touching up I did find it started to make my lips a bit dry. I slicked a bit of Vaseline on and it seem to sort it straight out, and didn't make the product slide of my lips either.
Hopefully next time I visit the good old supermarket they will have more colours I can get!

Have you tried any good lip stains or lip tints lately

A few more from Artdeco

Hello! Hope you enjoyed your Monday! Which I know is hard for many, no one really likes Mondays do they, but you know what that means, one day closer to the weekend, every cloud!
So the lovely dee, our Artdeco rep came into show us some new goodies coming out soon, so,obviously I had to have a little purchase didn't I?

I'm always on the look out for new things for the old brows especially when bold brows are here to stay. I'm not so into the scouse brow look, I converted to a powder a while ago which I found looked a lot more natural than the pencil look. The only thing I wasn't so keen on with powder was unless I put moisturiser on my eyebrows before the powder didnt stick to my sparse bits or bald patches.
I've seen a few eyebrow pens on the market, and always thought again they were going to give me the scouse brow look. Which I suppose if you layered it up and went for it then you could achieve it!
After speaking to Dee about how to get that natural look, I decided to get this eyebrow colour pen.
It's so easy to use, just use strokes to give it that natural look. I'm not sure how long it will last though, I forgot to ask about that! The nibs  thin at the end so you can do your strokes as thin or as thick as you like as the harder you press the thicker the line. I beleive this is my new favourite thing in my makeup case!

My love for lipsticks defiantly meant I had to try this little beauty from their new collection. This is cherry blossom no.466 from their high performance range. It's a perfect colour for autumn, and will fit nicely with all my other lippies. I love the dark vampy colours so as soon as I saw it i had to have it, unfortunately like my other Artdeco lipsticks I can't show you the nice retail packaging because I'm a cheap skate and got the tester instead! Again like the other artdeco lipsticks I own its very moisturising and gives a lovely gloss finish without being too much. Unfortunately it not very lasting though so I used it with my Artdeco magic fix, which is my go too lipstick fixer, and it stays perfectly. It lasted me about half an hour without the fixer which is not great especially with a statement colour like this. With the fixer though it lasted me around 5hours!! It probably would of lasted me longer but I went to to sushi and got noodles all over my chops!

time to treat the hair!

hey all! so i was reading one of my favourite blogs, kayleigh's, back in may, and she did a great post on a few macadamia products. she also did another post in march about a few more. After reading them I kept meaning to get some, but never got round to it....and also couldn't justify the amount they cost! Luckily i managed to pick this up at the trade warehouse, so it was slightly more affordable for me!

So first of all i noticed it because the wall was full of this great print! Its so eye catching but in a natural organicy way, with the browns and the greens. There was so many products to choose from. From healing oil, to hair brushes to leave in conditioners, to styling products! I was kind of lost. I decided to go for the deep repair mask as ive been looking aroud at hair masks for a while. As i dye my hair way to often, various different colours it tends to get a bit dry and frizzy on the ends...and i also avoid getting it cut at all costs which is kind of hard having a hair dresser working with us, cue the lecture!

Macadamia uses a combination of macadamia seed oil and argania kernel oil blended to make this deep repair mask. Both these oils are known for their healing properties, and are very popular due to the work they do for dry damaged hair, smoothing the hairs cuticle and nourishing your hair for manageable, stronger hair. It also helps to stop dry hair  and split ends by moisturising intensely.

I just wanted to get a the smaller 100ml tube to try out as the 250ml tube is knocking on £26/£27.
Its got a handy clip lid and you just squeeze it out, so i dont have to do any scooping, which gets all under my nails when there long and it wastes some then, and no one likes waste.
So after shampooing and conditioning, I slathered it on avoiding my roots, as they tend to get greasy easily. It smells gorgeous! Kind of fruity maybe? I cant work out the smell really but it just smells fresh and clean! I left it on for around 10 minutes which is a bit longer than they recommend, they say 7. I rinsed it out and it instantly felt better than just conditioner. I cant really explain how, it just felt smoother and was way easier to brush through too.
When my hair was dry it looked smooth and shiny, genrally healthy really. There was no frizz in comparison to blow drying it which out the mask, although i dont tend to suffer with that much frizz any way. Im hoping after a few days it will still feel this good and look this good! Its recommended to not use more than twice a week, so I will start off with just once a week. I have also been using argan oil for a while so i will stop using that for a while to see true results from this hair mask and will update on further results when I do a post on the argan oil.

Can anyone recommend any other hair masks they've used?

Adding to the collection

Hope your all enjoying the bank holiday! I keep thinking its sunday already! Two more days off so its all good. Are you doing anything exciting this weekend?
Anyway onto the real subject!
While walking round the supermarket again and swatching millions of lipsticks, i finally decided on just two. I was being good!

The first was the maybelline 14 hour lipstick. Ive been looking for a rich coral colour and thought this perfect. It glides on nicley and it does last quite a while. I wouldnt say 14 hours, but i was drinking and things like that. Still impressed by it though, ive only worn it once so far but im sure it will be coming out again.

The other is a collection2000 lipstick. I've never used this brand before and i'm liking this lipstick. Its a good budget price and you dont need to layer it up to get a good colour. Again ive been looking for a neutral nude colour which doesnt look like ive put foundation on my lips or makes me look like im dead. I can imagine this colour suiting most skin tones aswell. Its a winner for me!

Anyone found any budget brands that are great for lipsticks?

Stop the shine!

Hey hey people!
I go through stages of buying loads of new stuff, then realising I'm skint, then I don't buy anything for ages! Well lucky for you I found some things I wanted to try out.
So I'll start of with this little beauty. For about 2 years now I haven't really worn foundation through the day and even on a night out I've only worn a tinged moisturiser. I saw the advert for this new maybelline FIT ME anti-shine stick foundation and thought straight away "I want it!" The different coloured core intrigued me so when strolling round Morrisons, getting carried away, picking things up as I normally do, the make up caught my eye. And low and behold this foundation just jumped in my basket!

This stick foundation is the new edition to the FIT ME collection. I haven't tried any of the other items in the range so if anyone's used them I'd love to hear your opinions.
Firstly the thing that made me buy it in the first place was the core of the foundation, 'lightweight powders in the anti-shine core instantly dissolve excess oil' maybelline say. The foundation is also a'fresh gel', I'm not too sure what the fresh part means, but it is a lightweight foundation and perfect for people like me who want coverage without feeling caked.
It's super easy to apply you just use the stick to apply to your face and use your fingers to blend. It's really blendable and glides on so easy, so great for a non fussy quick application. It feels like a cream when first applied but when blending it feels silky like a powder. It reminded me very much of the texture of dream matte mousse which I loved in my teens. It has a light to medium coverage I'd say, I'm sure you could build it up but I hate that look so its great for a natural finish and evens out skin tones perfectly. If you have blemished skin I can imagine its not the best foundation for you though.

The foundation being a stick foundation is a easy handbag friendly idea. I love that its not going to squirt everywhere and I can slip it in my bag and easily apply when I want. It's small in size so I'm not sure how long it will last, like I said I don't tend to wear foundation through the day so its probably going to last me a while. It's staying power I have yet to find out I've had it on for a couple of hours now and it still looks great. When I first applied it was definitely a matte shine free look that made my skin look flawless. A couple of hours on I have to admit there's a bit of shine coming through, I didn't set it with powder or anything so I expected that. I do prefer a bit of a dewy look though as long as I don't look mega greasy!

Finding the right shade was Hard as the supermarket didnt have testers, I just went for why I thought. The cores abit off putting as there all different colours! I would say the shade I choose was a bit lighter when applied it than it looked before, but it still matched so its all good.

All in all I will keep using this foundation as I like the easiness of the stick and the coverage is perfect for me.

elf contouring

Hello all! So if I'm honest I'd never heard of elf products until I started reading blogs so I thought I'd get myself some and give them a whirl. The first thing I thought I'd try was this handy compact which has a contouring blusher and bronzer. I do love my blush so thought this was perfect for my first time. I'm always after a good bronzer to do a bit of contouring and this works perfectly. The blusher is a lovely subtle pink shade that to me, would suit Any skin tone. I like to have quite a baby pink blush so again this was great.
The bronzer does have a bit of shimmer to it, which normally I don't like but once on it looks great so I applied it just under my cheek bones to give that more contoured look. They both blend perfectly and have a lovely smooth texture to them, and the staying power of them is hard to match with any I've used before.

All in all I love this handy compact I can shove in my bag and I will defiantly be trying some more elf products out!

Can anyone recommend any other elf products I should try?

Thanks
